Mission & Vision
The mission of the GLEE Key West Community Garden is to provide Key West residents
as well as Monroe County School District students and employees with a safe and organized environment to teach and
learn to grow healthy organic food (greens, herbs, fruits and vegetables).
The vision of the GLEE Key West Community Garden is to develop individual plots,
common areas, a food forest, rain-harvesting and composting systems that demonstrate environmental stewardship,
sustainability, water conservation, resource management, historical relevance, and healthy food cultivation on and off site.
Though space is limited, the garden welcomes everyone. If you'd like to become a Member
please let us know by first sending us an email or contacting a Executive Committee member
directly. Come join us!
We hope you'll also take some time to explore our new website, which is growing every day.
The goal of the website is to provide lots of useful gardening information. We've tried to make it fun and easy to
navigate. If you have a suggestion that will improve the website, or you'd like to share something,
please let us know.
Gisselle and her first beans.
"Admittedly I don't have a green thumb, but I love to water, watch the plants and vegetables grow, and of course harvest! Fortunately
there are members here at the garden who can do the heavy lifting that I can't do, and they know how to grow stuff.
Everyone is friendly and helps out. I love being involved here at the garden. I never thought when I moved to Key West from NJ that I'd be gardening!
Gardening is truly good for the soul."
